For only $30 it's cheaper than 1/3 the cost of an ac adaptor (for the Nikon D5000). The only way for my D5000 to work with AC is with a $30 dummy battery and a $70 AC adaptor. I'm surprised that the battery is so inexpensive in comparison to the AC adaptor. And so I am very happy with this purchase. -- Great alternative to AC adaptor
