User Reviews about Lowepro Flipside 200 Backpack (Black)
Just received this in the mail and started loading my three cameras--yes, I wrote three--in this bag. Love the red color first of all. It's not a flashy bright cherry red. It's a nice dull red that doesn't stand out, but still blends well with the black on the bag. What the other reviews have said are true, there is not much room to fit much, and the removable pads only do so much. However, I was able to fit my Canon 7D with attached 85mm 1.8, Leica M8.2 w/ attached Voigtlander 50mm f/1.1 (laid face up), two more Leica lens in the cases. I also have a Leica X1 in the zippered pouch. I removed a couple of the pads around and there is room for all of that! I think I can also fit another lens in the bag if needed.
If I had not gotten this bag I always have to choose which of those three cameras I can take, and one always had to stay around my neck in order to travel as light as possible on short day trips or risk achy back syndrome with a bigger bag.
I love this backpack so far. Now of course, there is not much room for anything else: flash, mini tripod, pocket foreign dictionary, bottle of water, any other items I usually travel with when I photograph unless I keep a camera in my hand/around my neck at all times and then I can put only one of the above items in the bag. The outer "water bottle pocket" is very tight (even with nothing in the bag at all), so it would only fit maybe the small 250ml bottles. If I used the other zippered pocket to put the water bottle, then that leaves the entire pocket open for items to fall out...cash, credit cards, tickets, etc.
Also the very top of the bag is extremely stiff. I wish it were more flexible--less like a box, just to give it some breathing room on my back. The zipper does not go all the way down, true, but I have put the lens in cases at the bottom so it's easy to reach in and retrieve, and I know which one is which. However, it would be nice for a size opening or if the zipper went all the way down. But my system works, and I know that I'm the only one who can get access to my equipment.
None of these take away from me giving it five stars however. It fits three cameras, three lens, and maybe room for one more...I love it.
This is only after a few hours of walking around and trying out the bag. After my trip, if there's more to add, I'll change, but I know I'll love this bag. It's perfect!

Really good pack - compact enough to easily haul around but still roomy. Can't handle a lot of gear though. You may need to upgrade to large size if you carry multiple lenses, gear, etc. Great for travel. -- Great pack
This is an awesome bag for beginners. It can easily hold two lenses + other camera accessories. Has adjustable compartments. Nicely designed. I love it! -- Awesome backpack for beginners
I've owned this bag for nearly a month now and I have nothing but good things to say about it. When I ordered it, I was not quite sure how big it would be. At this point, I only have a Canon T1i and kit lens so I don't need some huge bag. But upon arrival, this bag has plenty of room. You could easily add a telephoto lens and 1-2 smaller lenses.
I really like the way the bag is designed. The entrance to the bag is on your back so there is never a worry that your equipment will fall out. The bag is also very padded. The only flaw with this bag is that the zippers/flap do not allow the bottom 2-3 inches of space to be easily accessible. It's not a huge problem as you can get stuff in and out of that area but it is something to note. The bag is very light with my 1 camera and 1 lens in it.
So for those of you just getting started with a DSLR, this bag is a great choice and should last you for a while (depending on how quickly you'll buy additional lenses). I certainly recommend it, especially for the price. -- Lowepro Flipside 200 Review
